Synthwav / Token Delegate

Token Delegate

Authority-granted access for maintaining a token family's Token Insight Profile.

What Token Delegate Does

Token Delegate allows a token's current on-chain Authority to grant one wallet permission to maintain that token family's public TIP metadata. The delegated wallet can keep the description, website, and social links current without becoming the token's on-chain Authority.

Delegation applies to one canonical TIP token family. It does not transfer ownership, change the token contract, or grant control over supply, markets, scoring, or any other on-chain function.

How Delegation Is Verified

An on-chain delegation uses a short-lived challenge generated by Synthwav. The current Authority completes the challenge by sending its exact, randomized proof amount to the intended delegate wallet before the challenge expires. Synthwav verifies the transaction, the sender, recipient, amount, token family, and current Authority before activating the grant.

The proof transaction can only be used once. If the token family or Authority changes before verification, the challenge must be started again.

Synthwav can also record a community-verified delegate with at least three distinct references. Community verification is administered by Synthwav and is identified separately from an on-chain Authority proof.

What a Delegate Can Edit

An active Token Delegate can update the same public TIP metadata fields available through the standard editor:

  • description
  • website
  • X profile
  • Telegram link

A delegate cannot change token identity, family relationships, the Authority wallet, supply, market data, scoring methodology, Token Score, or TIP Grade directly. Published metadata can affect the Profile-completeness factor under the same scoring rules applied to every token.

Authority and Delegate Access

The verified on-chain Authority retains edit access. Delegate authorization is checked only when the connected wallet is not the Authority.

Delegated access remains valid only while the granting Authority is still the token family's current Authority. If the on-chain Authority changes, Synthwav automatically suspends the active grant rather than allowing the previous delegation to continue.

Public Disclosure and History

The TIP editor identifies a connected delegated wallet with a DELEGATE badge. Metadata changes made through delegated access are recorded with the DELEGATE role so users can distinguish them from Authority, Steward, and administrator changes.

The public delegated-authority record identifies whether the grant was verified on-chain or through the community process, along with its status and verification date.

Ending Delegated Access

The current Authority can revoke an on-chain delegation through a new verified proof. Synthwav administrators can suspend or revoke a grant when necessary. An active delegate can also select Step Down in the TIP editor to resign immediately.

Revoked, suspended, or resigned grants no longer provide edit access. Existing metadata and historical provenance remain available.

Failure Safety

Delegated authorization fails closed. If Synthwav cannot load or validate the active grant or current Authority, new delegated edits are denied until verification succeeds. Existing published metadata remains available.
